The Union has prepared and approved its Five-Year Strategic Plan (2026/27 to 2030/31), which will guide the Union's operations and development through nine priorities implemented for the benefit of Members and farmers.

• Lindi Mwambao Cooperative Union (LMCU) Ltd began operations in October 2014, under an interim founding committee.
• The Union's first Annual General Meeting was held on 27 September 2017.
• The Union received its official registration on 19 February 2018 (Registration No. 5596).
• As of February 2026, the Union has a total of 61 Member AMCOS, from Kilwa, Lindi Municipal and Mtama districts.
